Romania, a country rich in history and untouched nature, invites you to discover its secrets – step by step.

The Via Transilvanica, a 1,400 km hiking path that crosses Romania, was established in 2022. Each stage offers a unique adventure, catering to culture enthusiasts, nature lovers, and adventurers alike. The journey begins at the Ukrainian border in the Bukovina region, known for its lovely hilly landscapes and medieval monasteries, and continues through the historic “Land of the Szeklers”. Here, people live from and with nature, breed the ancient Hutsul horses, make medicine from plants, build traditional instruments, and care for the region's wild animals. Further south, the Via Transilvanica continues through Transylvania, home to the historical role model of Dracula, Vlad Țepeș. The region is known for its unique biodiversity, with over 600 species of butterflies. Traditional agriculture contributes to the preservation of this biodiversity. The trail ends at the impressive Danube Delta.
